Levínský mlýn se může pochlubit dvěma významnými rodáky. Prvním z nich byla «b»Marie Bělohlávková«/b» rozená«b» Doubková «/b»(1915 - 1969), která byla první jihočeskou pilotkou a rekordmankou v rychlostním letu. Její bratr«b» Ladislav Doubek «/b»(1921 - 2003) byl chirurgem a od roku 1950 žil v emigraci v kanadské Ottawě. Za svou čtyřicetiletou praxi provedl téměř čtyřicet tisíc chirurgických operací a jeho jméno bylo přihlášeno k zápisu do Guinessovy knihy rekordů.

Dr. «b»Ladislav Jan DOUBEK«/b», MD, FRCS (C), FACS, FICS, Charles University, Prague, Czechoslovakia, 1949 1921-2003 He died in the Ottawa Civic Hospital, Friday, June 13, 2003. Dr. Doubek fulfilled his Internships and Residency at the OCH and was on staff from 1958 to 1976. He became Chief of Surgery at The Queensway Carleton Hospital from 1976 to 1987. He retired in 1997 but continued to practice until recently. He played tennis regularly and enjoyed each day as a new experience. He devoted his life to medicine and to his patients. He was a man of integrity whose strength and determination inspired others to follow suit. He leaves his wife, «b»Eilleen«/b», of nearly 50 years; daughter «b»Deborah Doubek-Acerboni«/b» (Luciano), who resides in Spain, «b»Daria Doubek-Thompson«/b» and beloved granddaughter Sierra Paige Thompson, of West Palm Beach, Florida.
A celebration of Dr. Doubek's life will be held on June 17th at St. John the Apostle Church (2340 Baseline Road, Ottawa) at 1:00 p.m. A reception will follow at the Pinecrest Cemetery Reception Centre (2500 Baseline Road, Ottawa). To the staff of St. Vincent's Hospital and the staff of the Ottawa Civic Hospital, our most heartfelt thanks for the loving care of my husband. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dr. Ladislav Doubek Foundation for Surgical Education, c/o The Queensway Carleton Hospital, 3045 Baseline Road, Ottawa, K2H 8P4 would be appreciated.

Wife of the late Dr. Ladislav J. Doubek. Mother of Daria Doubek-Thompson and the late Deborah Doubek-Acerboni. Grandmother of Sierra Thompson. Sister of Florence DiProva (Vincent) and Gladys Watters. Eilleen's earthly presence is gone but her spiritual presence is ours forever. Her family wishes to thank all the members of the NACU at the Civic Hospital who provided excellent care to her. A Graveside Service will be held at the Pinecrest Cemetery, 2500 Baseline Road on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
