Jako člen řady spolků, byl třeba místopředsedou Obchodní a živnostenské komory, členem spolku československých inženýrů a dalších kulturních a společenských institucí, byl všech těchto funkcí veřejně zbaven, vyhoštěn z Českých Budějovic a jeho majetek konfiskován.

«/i»Started to study Chemistry at the Technical Institute in Praha. However, the declaration of the war in «i»1914 «/i» interrupted his studies. Both brothers Miroslav and Vladimír were drafted in the Austrian Army right at the onset of the war. However, unlike Vladimír who was tragically killed in action in first few months of the conflict, Miroslav survived the war and distinguished himself as an artillery officer.
In addition to Austrian decorations for gallantry, he was awarded a German Iron Cross after having served under German command at the Russian front. He survived not o nly the fighting but also a serious bout of dysentery, which accounted for a great many lives of combatants. After the WWI he successfully completed his University studies and obtained a Doctorate in Technical Sciences (PhD). His professional excellence, diligence, personal integrity, knowledge of languages and social and management skills assured him an illustrious career in the industry.
He became a leading figure in the entrepreneurial ranks in Southern Bohemia. In spite of his commitment to his many exacting professional duties, somehow he always found time to pursue his beloved outdoor activities such as skiing, canoeing, fishing and motoring. His nephew «b»Vlastislav«/b», the author of the «i»Narrative«/i», does not hide his admiration, love and reverence for him. Uncle Miroslav introduced him to outdoor activities such as kayaking - in a famous folding kayak Klepper - on Vltava in «i»1920's«/i» .
